About the ULC
For more than 50 years the Universal Life Church has been fighting for rights of its ministers. The Church strongly advocates the rights set forth by the Bill of Rights and the United States Constitution. As the First Amendment states:
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
The Establishment Clause of the First Amendment prohibits the Congress from establishing preference of one religion over another, or preference for religion over non-religion. The Universal Life Church holds only one doctrine: insisting that members,"do that which is right." Each individual has the privilege and responsibility to determine what is right for him or her, so long as their beliefs do not infringe upon the rights of others. The ULC does not stand between its ministers and their God.
